Working on the idea of adding two operators to the Santa María expedition is being considered, working as a team undoubtedly has significant advantages over working alone. I will confirm this important news in upcoming updates. Meanwhile, I continue working on finding a cabin with enough free land to install the antennas.

The itinerary has been confirmed for a ferry crossing between the city of Lota and Isla Santa María, setting the expedition dates for November 11–14. The new schedule is one day earlier than initially announce. Six meters operation will be ready thanks to a good friend from Santiago that has build a 4 elem yagi antenna special to this expedition, antenna has some special requirements due strongs wind present on the island.

SSB contacts between Nov 10 and 14, 2025 will count toward IOTA credits, and so will FT8 contacts between Nov 10 and 12. CW and FT8 contacts between 00:01 UTC on Nov 13 and 23:59 UTC on Nov 14 will be carried out remotely, and will not count toward IOTA credits. The latter time window will be used to test equipment for the upcoming CE0X project.

Subtel, Chilean license authority, has confirmed the special call sign requested for this activity as 3G5SM, authorization included two more operators; CE3VTZ Moisés and CE3YMR Manu, this means 3 HF station running simultaneously in the up coming November.

All the logistical task has been completed, antennas radios and other gear are ready to go, Manu (CE3YMR) and Moises (CE3VTZ) will start his journey from Santiago next sunday, they will drive arround 600km to the city of Lota, where the ferry is located to crossing to Santa María Island. Felipe (XQ7IR) will travel via road to arrive to the city of Lota. Cabin is rented and has an excellent location and free space to erect antennas, first RF must be irradiated at Sunday 9th arround 20:00UTC, The team is in very good spirits and hope to log many stations in different bands and modes.

3G5SM Team is "On Air" in different bands and modes, our antennas are withstanding winds of up to 60 km/h, a strong solar flare has hit the earth which has reduced communications on HF, however the team continues working to log a largest number of stations in different bands and modes.
We expected to be qrv until November 14th at 1600z. After the activity is finished logs will be sent to our qsl Manager TIM M0URX.

3G5SM entered QRT on November 14th at 1723z, until this update team members are back and safe in home, logs have been sent to our Qsl Manager TIM M0URX to proceed and confirm the contacts that we made. According to IOTA rules SSB and FT8 qsos will count toward IOTA credits, CW qsos (was made via the remote station) will not count towards IOTA credits.
